Basic Grammar

Unit 1
Nouns and Pronouns

Objective:

To learn the basic usage of common nouns, proper nouns, concrete nouns, abstract nouns and personal pronouns.

  1. Noun classification (e.g. common nouns vs proper nouns)
  2. Personal pronouns (e.g., I, you, he, she, they).
  3. Sentence making exercise: Use nouns and pronouns to describe everyday objects and people.
Unit 2
Verbs and Auxiliary Verbs

Objective:

To master the use of common auxiliary verbs such as Be, have and do.

  1. The basic structure and usage of verbs Be, have, and do
  2. Verb sentence making exercise: Use auxiliary verbs to make sentences about daily activities (e.g. I am a student, I have a book).

Present Tense and Subject-Verb Agreement 

Objective:

Learn to use present tense to describe daily activities and correctly apply subject and verb agreement.

  1. Basic usage of present tense.
  2. Rules for subject-verb agreement (e.g., He plays, They play).
  3. Practical application: sentence practice and error correction.
 Unit 4
Adjectives and Adverbs 

Objective:

Learn the basic usage of adjectives (adjectives of quality, adjectives of quantity) and adverbs (adverbs of place, adverbs of time)

  1. How to use adjectives to modify nouns and adverbs to modify verbs.
  2. Sentence making practice: Use adjectives to describe the characteristics of objects and people; use adverbs to describe the time and place of an action.

Intermediate Grammar

Unit 5
Past and future tenses

Objective:

Learn to use past and future tenses to describe past events and future plans.

  1. Past tense of regular and irregular verbs
  2. Use of future tense (will, going to).
  3. Sentence practice: Describing past and future plans.
Unit 6
Comparatives and Superlatives

Objective:

Learn to correctly use the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs to make comparisons.

  1. Rules for comparatives and superlatives (e.g. bigger, biggest).
  2. Exercise: Compare two or more.
 Unit 7
Conditional Sentences and Subjunctive Mood

Objective:

Learn to use the first and second conditional sentences and the hypothetical mood to express assumptions and possibilities.

  1. The structure and use of conditional sentences (if-clauses).
  2. Hypothetical mood (e.g., If I were you, I would...).
  3. Role play: Apply conditional sentences and hypothetical mood in different situations.
 Unit 8
Infinitives and Gerunds

Objective:

To learn the basic usage of adjectives (adjectives of quality, adjectives of quantity) and adverbs (adverbs of place, adverbs of time).

  1. The difference between an infinitive as a noun and a gerund (e.g. To run is fun vs. Running is fun).
  2. Gerunds are used in phrase verbs.
  3. Exercise: Make sentences and analyze the functions of infinitives and gerunds.

Advanced Writing

 Unit 9

Passive Voice


Objective:

To learn the structure and application of passive voice.

  1. Rules for converting active sentences into passive sentences (e.g. John ate the cake → The cake was eaten by John).
  2. Analysis of the application scenarios of passive voice
  3. Sentence transformation exercise: transform active sentences into passive sentences.
Unit 10
Inversion and Emphasis

Objective:

Learn to use inversion sentences after words such as only, little, so, such, etc., and understand the use of emphasis sentences.

  1. Basic rules of inversion and emphatic sentences (e.g. Not only did he...).
  2. Practical application: Correctly use inversion sentences in daily conversations and writing.

 Unit 11

Relative Pronouns


Objective:

Learn to use relative pronouns and understand the agreement between pronouns and antecedents.

  1. The basic structure and usage of relative pronouns (who, which, that).
  2. Sentence practice: Use relative pronouns to connect sentences.
 Unit 12
Connecting Words 

Objective:

Learn to use conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions to connect sentences, and understand the functions of different types of conjunctions.

  1. Use of conjunctions (and, but, or).
  2. Subordinate conjunctions (because, although, if) express conditions, time, concessions, etc.
  3. Practical Exercise: Connect short sentences into complex sentences using conjunctions.

Assessment methods

An online assessment test is conducted after every 10 lessons. The test content includes:


  1. Sentence practice
  2. Grammar questions
  3. Speaking Practice Test


Content tests students’ absorption of the content in the first 10 classes. If students fail the test, they will be reinforced in their weak areas and the content of the previous stage will be repeated.

The assessment will check the students' understanding of the material covered in the first 10 classes. If a student does not pass the test, we will focus on strengthening their weak areas and review the content from the previous stage.


Policy & Agreement l Course Notice & Agreement
  • Students must take a trial course before ordering it, and both parties can only order the course after reaching a consensus. The trial class is free of charge and lasts approximately 25 minutes. It is conducted via Zoom. Please send the video link to LINE: @592nmeoi approximately 5 to 10 minutes before the class starts.
  • Please read the course content on the website in advance and contact us via LINE: @592nmeoi. Fill in the registration form at the top of the message. We will respond as soon as possible with your level assessment and available time for the trial.
  • After the trial class, you will be given two days to consider your application and your expected class time will be retained. If you confirm the course subscription, the student details, number of classes, class times and other information will be created on Google Cloud. In addition, a PDF contract will be sent. Please read it carefully and sign it electronically to ensure that the student and the teacher reach a consensus.


 Payment method: Payment shall be made by bank transfer within three days after signing the contract.


 Attendance, Course Cancellation and Transfers:

  • Lateness: If you are late, you must inform the teacher politely. If you are late three times or more per month or the cumulative lateness is more than 30 minutes per month, the teacher may withhold the salary for one class, and students may not object.
  • sick leave:
  • a. If a student is unwell and unable to attend class, he/she should inform the teacher one hour in advance to ask for leave.
  • b. The hours missed due to sick leave will be made up by the teacher as needed, or the absence will not be included in the calculation of salary.
  • Personal leave:
  • a. If a student is unable to attend class due to some reason, he/she should ask for leave and inform the teacher three days in advance.
  • b. The hours of absence due to students taking personal leave will be made up by the teacher as needed, or the absence will not be included in the calculation of salary.
  • Cancellation policy: After students register, there are no refunds for the course. Please choose your course plan carefully.
  • Course Transfer: If a student is unable to continue the course, after notifying the teacher, the student may transfer the remaining course to another person, and written confirmation must be completed within 3 days of the transfer.

 Currently offered course programs:

  • 10 classes: NT$10,000 (NT$1,000 per class), must be completed within 3 months, course handout fee NT$500.
  • 25 classes: NT$22,500 (NT$900 per class), to be completed within 6 months, including lecture notes and homework.
  • 50 classes: NT$35,000 (NT$700 per class), to be completed within 12 months, including lecture notes and homework.
  • 100 classes: NT$50,000 (NT$500 per class), to be completed within 12 months, including lecture notes and homework. (Recommended for students with high course demand)

  • All courses can be transferred, but no refunds are given. Please choose carefully before enrolling.
  • The course offers a free 25-minute trial so that students and parents do not have to bear the burden of evaluating whether the course content is suitable for them.
