Basic Writing
Unit 1
Basic Sentences and Vocabulary Expansion
Objective:
Students learn how to write correct simple sentences in English and expand their vocabulary.
- Introducing basic sentence patterns (subject verb object)
- Guide students to create simple sentences using common nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
- Vocabulary expansion exercises: everyday objects, actions and descriptions.
Unit 2
Paragraph Structure and Topic Sentences
Objective:
Learn how to write simple paragraphs and understand the importance of topic sentences.
- Introduction paragraph structure (topic sentence supporting sentences)
- Guide students to create a paragraph centered on a single topic
- Practical Exercise: Have students write their own paragraphs based on the prompts, emphasizing the topic sentence
Unit 3
The foundations of narrative writing
Objective:
Learn how to write a simple narrative using correct chronological order.
- Introduce the basic elements of narrative writing: sequence of events, expression of time and description of characters.
- Practice Writing: Have students describe an activity or experience in simple sentences.
Intermediate Writing
Unit 4
Expository Writing and Logical Structure
Objective:
Students learn how to write a well-organized expository essay and understand the role of logical structure.
- Describe the structure of an expository essay: introduction supporting details summary.
- Guide students to brainstorm and actually express a topic through writing.
- Exercise: Ask students to write a short explanatory essay based on actual situations, and pay attention to logical coherence.
Unit 5
Compare and contrast writing
Objective:
Students learn how to compare and contrast in their writing.
- Introduce comparison and contrast sentences (e.g. better than, different from, similar to).
- Practice Writing: Based on the two given objects, students write a comparison and contrast essay.
Unit 6
The Basics of Persuasive Writing
Objective:
Learn how to organize a persuasive essay and express your views reasonably.
- Introduce the structure of a persuasive essay: expressing a point of view arguments to support the point of view conclusion.
- Guide students to brainstorm, develop ideas, and gather supporting evidence.
- Exercise: Write a short persuasive essay to express your own opinion.
Advanced Writing
Unit 7
Essay Writing and Research
Objective:
Students learn how to write a research-based paper and cite sources to support their arguments.
- Introduce the structure of the paper: introduction statement of thesis supporting research conclusion.
- Guide students to conduct basic research and learn how to cite materials.
- Exercise: Students choose a topic and write a short paper with references.
Unit 8
Creative and Descriptive Writing
Objective:
Learn to write creatively and descriptively, using vivid language and specific details.
- Introducing descriptive writing techniques: using specific adjectives and verbs to make readers feel as if they are in the story.
- Creative Writing Exercise: Have students write a short story or descriptive essay using vivid descriptive language.
Unit 9
Complex Sentences and Writing Polishing
Objective:
To learn how to use complex sentence structures to strengthen and polish your writing.
- Introduce complex sentence structures (e.g. clauses, use of conjunctions).
- Writing polishing tips: How to make your writing more fluent by modifying sentence structure and language.
- Exercise: Have students revise their previous writing work, adding complex sentence structures and polishing it.
Assessment methods
Homework after each class: Students need to complete writing assignments, and the teacher will test students’ understanding of the class.
Writing Feedback: The teacher will provide feedback in the next class, highlighting the student's strengths and providing suggestions for improvement.
Midterm and final writing tests: Students are required to write a relatively complete essay. The teacher will score the essay based on content, structure, and grammar, and give detailed comments.
After-class assignments require students to complete writing tasks for assessment of their understanding. Feedback will be given in the next class, highlighting strengths and suggestions for improvement. For midterm and final tests, students must write a comprehensive article, which will be graded on content, structure, and grammar, along with detailed comments.
Policy & Agreement l Course Notice & Agreement
- Students must take a trial course before ordering it, and both parties can only order the course after reaching a consensus. The trial class is free of charge and lasts approximately 25 minutes. It is conducted via Zoom. Please send the video link to LINE: @592nmeoi approximately 5 to 10 minutes before the class starts.
- Please read the course content on the website in advance and contact us via LINE: @592nmeoi. Fill in the registration form at the top of the message. We will respond as soon as possible with your level assessment and available time for the trial.
- After the trial class, you will be given two days to consider your application and your expected class time will be retained. If you confirm the course subscription, the student details, number of classes, class times and other information will be created on Google Cloud. In addition, a PDF contract will be sent. Please read it carefully and sign it electronically to ensure that the student and the teacher reach a consensus.
Payment method: Payment shall be made by bank transfer within three days after signing the contract.
Attendance, Course Cancellation and Transfers:
- Lateness: If you are late, you must inform the teacher politely. If you are late three times or more per month or the cumulative lateness is more than 30 minutes per month, the teacher may withhold the salary for one class, and students may not object.
- sick leave:
- a. If a student is unwell and unable to attend class, he/she should inform the teacher one hour in advance to ask for leave.
- b. The hours missed due to sick leave will be made up by the teacher as needed, or the absence will not be included in the calculation of salary.
- Personal leave:
- a. If a student is unable to attend class due to some reason, he/she should ask for leave and inform the teacher three days in advance.
- b. The hours of absence due to students taking personal leave will be made up by the teacher as needed, or the absence will not be included in the calculation of salary.
- Cancellation policy: After students register, there are no refunds for the course. Please choose your course plan carefully.
- Course Transfer: If a student is unable to continue the course, after notifying the teacher, the student may transfer the remaining course to another person, and written confirmation must be completed within 3 days of the transfer.
Currently offered course programs:
- 10 classes: NT$10,000 (NT$1,000 per class), must be completed within 3 months, course handout fee NT$500.
- 25 classes: NT$22,500 (NT$900 per class), to be completed within 6 months, including lecture notes and homework.
- 50 classes: NT$35,000 (NT$700 per class), to be completed within 12 months, including lecture notes and homework.
- 100 classes: NT$50,000 (NT$500 per class), to be completed within 12 months, including lecture notes and homework. (Recommended for students with high course demand)
Note:
- All courses can be transferred, but no refunds are given. Please choose carefully before enrolling.
- The course offers a free 25-minute trial so that students and parents do not have to bear the burden of evaluating whether the course content is suitable for them.
